Series
In the winter of 2011, a draft for a children’s story was created, though it was never published. The narrative centred on a grandfather sharing with a grandchild how tales from Norse mythology could be linked to volcanic eruptions, specifically referencing Eyjafjallajökull. Illustrations were produced to accompany the story. Years later, a significant event prompted reflections that inspired a series of new drawings (1–24), combining text and images from the unpublished story, exploring themes of friendship and memory.
This series marks the first time that the artist used napkin paper in his artwork. Although the drawing technique has evolved over time, he consider these drawings to be the pieces that first sparked his interest in working with paper as painting medium.
